Talula Love Bottoms is the artist that resides in all of us. She is reckless. She is passionately fearless. She is all of the things you are....that society has convinced you - is not the norm. Inside Talula...we embrace our faults and flaws and spontaneity defines us.

The weather had its way with you. Day #2 Inspiration
Inspiration Day 2:
Pick a place to go...anywhere in the world. If you have a globe;
spin it with me. (and then remind me to talk about the word spin.)
I landed in Kenya! How exciting!!!
What can I pull out of Kenya that will inspire my work for the day?
Hot air balloon safaris.
I've been wanting to do a series of artworks with hot air balloons.
I love the fact that the idea behind them is very elemental.
I also like the combination of materials used to make them. One of my favorite
Joseph Cornell Artworks is of a paper doll floating like a hot air balloon. She's wearing a blue dress and it was also the inspiration for my first solo exhibition. I'm excited to revisit this idea! I probably blogged about it previously so if you search my blog you may find reference to it. (I'm laughing to myself as I write that bc I'm pretty sure no one is going to "search" my blog)
I suppose all that is left to do is a sketch or two..
(give me a minute and I will do it and then photo it so that we can
all be present in this specific inspiration) I would love it if you would
sketch with me too...If you send me the picture I will post it on this blog as well!!! How much fun is that????
Lyrics I thought about while sketching...
The Kills, Black Balloon.
Elevator straight into my skull
The escalator rises as it falls
I swear our jet is crashing in my mind
You can hold on but I wouldn't waste your time
Farewell my black balloon
Farewell my black balloon
I've stood in a thousand street scenes
Just around the corner from you
On the edge of a dream that you have
Has anybody ever told you, it's not coming true?
Farewell my black balloon
Farewell my black balloon
The weather had its way with you
Farewell my black balloon
The weather had its way with you
Farewell my black balloon
